Zodiak Kids unveils new Mister Maker identity

New licensees also joining portfolio for arts and crafts brand ahead of spring refresh.

Zodiak Kids has revealed a new brand identity for arts and crafts property, Mister Maker, as well as bolstering the licensing programme.

The company has secured a three-year renewal with arts and crafts partner, Creativity International, as well as welcoming two new licensees on board.

Add Trading and toucanBox have joined the line-up for 2016.

Add Trading will launch a range of products incorporating air drying clay, modelling clay and dough, hydro and ironing beads and jewellery kits.

Meanwhile, toucanBox – which delivers arts and crafts kits in personalised boxes direct to consumers across the UK – will create an additional Mister Maker offering. This will contain bespoke arts and crafts kits that children can do at home, delivered to them on a subscription basis.

The seventh series of Mister Maker – Arty Party – launched on CBeebies in December and became the second highest performing series for 4-6 year olds on the channel for 2015.

Zodiak Kids will begin to introduce the rebranded and refreshed product range into retail from spring this year.

Claire Shaw, vp of licensing at Zodiak Kids said: “We are absolutely delighted to renew Creativity International, who have been our key licensee for the last seven years and to bring on board two new partners as the new series continues. These are great opportunities for reaching consumers and building on our high levels of brand awareness.”

Mister Maker has also been enjoying success overseas. It had two tours in Australia in 2015, with a third planned for later this year, which will see Mister Maker perform in Sydney Opera House’s main arena. ABC currently broadcasts all previous series of Mister Maker and has signed up for the new series.

In the UK, Mister Maker is performing a nationwide tour with Evolution Productions and will be starring in over 100 shows.

Internationally, BBC Worldwide has renewed all series for its feeds in Asia, Poland and Africa, giving broadcast commitment for the next three years.
