YooHoo & Friends marks decade with new TV

Licensing programme spearheaded by Aurora World with 88 skus.

The YooHoo & Friends brand is celebrating ten years with the launch of a new TV series.

YooHoo to the Rescue is a Netflix original 3D CGI production and co-production with Mondo TV. It is due to launch in 20 different languages and more than 190 countries in March/April.

It will follow the adventures of seven animal friends who live in the magical land of YooTopia, who travel to a new destination in each episode to help animals in trouble.

The licensing programme is spearheaded by Aurora World – brand owner and manufacturer of the YooHoo plush line. Following a ten year legacy which has seen YooHoo plush sales exceed 80 million units, as lead licensee Aurora is kickstarting the programme with the launch of 88 skus reflecting the highly collectable element of the brand. These include 5” and 8” sizes of the seven main and 26 secondary characters from the TV series, 14 skus of Plush Keychains and 8 skus of Mini Sacks.

Retail presentations are currently taking place with product scheduled for delivery in March 2019. Each single plush item will carry a hangtag with the name of the character, information about the animal it represents, the Netflix logo and a QR code which leads kids to the digital engagement.

Jane Forbes, who is heading up the licensing programme in the UK, is seeking licences initially in the toy (plastic/play-sets), publishing (TV tie-in formats/annuals) and apparel sectors.

European deals secured include Panini (stickers/mini figurines/trading cards/photo cards), Nuvita (baby care), Apple Beauty (toiletries) and Dolfin (bakery/chocolate). Kennedy Publishing (compilation magazines) is a long-term partner in the UK and Germany.
