Wild & Wolf, Monty Bojangles win Queen’s Award

Both companies honoured with Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2018.

Gifting company Wild & Wolf and luxury chocolate and confectionery brand Monty Bojangles have been recognised with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2018.

The awards recognise and celebrate business excellence across the UK, with the international trade accolade showing the companies have demonstrated international growth in overseas earnings and commercial success with their sectors.

“We’ve experienced tremendous growth in our international trade, particularly in the last three years,” said Paul Taylor, ceo at Wild & Wolf. “Once a predominantly UK driven business, by the end of 2018 two thirds of our business will be outside of the UK, with the US being our single biggest market.

“We hope that winning this award will further drive prosperous international growth in markets such as Asia and in the EU. This coveted award is testament to the fantastic team we have here at Wild & Wolf, and we’re proud of our contribution in raising the global profile of great British design.”

Meanwhile, for Andrew Newlands – md of Honeycomb Project Management, the home of Monty Bojangles – working towards the award had been a clear target and personal goal for many years.

Andrew told The Source: “The year that won us the award featured main sales in the US, the Middle East, primarily Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and Far East, primarily China and HK. The American business in particular represented £1.2m of sales in the year, on a custom SKU developed for the US market.

“[Since the early days of the business] we have approached our target international markets with long-term strategies and joint business plans with our distribution and retail partners allowing for meaningful, sustainable growth.”

Monty Bojangles’ latest launch is Scofflets Go, which launches this week nationally and exclusive to Tesco. A first for the brand, it moves the truffles into the meal-deal impulse space for the first time.

The Source reported on Monday (April 23) that Santoro Licensing had been awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2018.
