We’re Going on a Bear Hunt marks 30 years

Series of partnerships with family-friendly brands planned as part of celebrations.

Walker Books has revealed a series of partnerships with family-friendly brands as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.

Activity begins this month in Giraffe restaurants nationwide, with young diners given a special activity sheet complete with puzzles and competition, with POS in-store.

In addition, families taking a break during April in one of Forest Holidays’ cabins can get out and about with a We’re Going on a Bear Hunt nature trail challenge, with activity sheets placed in cabins.

Muddy Puddles will celebrate outdoor adventures with activity sheets distributed in all packages through April, and collaborations across its blog and social.

Finally, during the summer, 75 Activity Farms will receive We’re Going on a Bear Hunt activity pads and posters inviting families to go on a bear hunt, with five of the farms running book-based events.

All activity will promote Walker Books’ anniversary editions of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, which include a paperback and board book. In addition, a hardback and limited edition hardback with signed print will be available in October.

The campaign has been created in collaboration with kids partnerships and promotions specialists, WhipperSnapper.

Walker Productions has also confirmed several TV licensing partners including Jainco for babywear in the UK and US; Wunder for wall stickers; and Gemma International for greeting cards.

These join existing partners with Paul Lamond (games and puzzles); Aurora (plush); Cooneen by Design (nightwear); Paul Dennicci (babywear), the animated DVD from Universal DVD and the original soundtrack from Sony Music.

“For 30 years, readers have been swishy-swashing and splash-sploshing through award-winning favourite We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, and we’re delighted to be celebrating with a range of partnerships focused around spending family time together and getting out and about,” said Jill Kidson, head of consumer marketing at Walker Books.
