Walker Books signs for JK Rowling’s Wizarding World

Company to work with Insight Editions to bring interactive children’s books to UK.

With the hype around Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them continuing to build following the trailer reveal at Comic-Con last week, Walker Books UK is to roll out a line of interactive children’s books based on JK Rowling’s Wizarding World.

The deal is the result of a sub-licence agreement with Insight Editions, which boasts the global publishing rights, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

According to The Bookseller, the deal includes novelty and interactive formats which explore and go behind the scenes of the film and the ‘expanding universe’ of JK Rowling’s Wizarding World.

Publication will kick off in October, with Walker Books UK releasing simultaneously with Walker Books Australia.

Karen Lotz, md of the Walker Group, said: “It is an extraordinary honour for our group to be chosen by the highly respected book publisher and packager, Insight Editions, as a global partner on this exciting and beloved property.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is due to hit cinemas in November.
