Walker marks Alice 150th with gift stationery line

Robert Frederick collection is part of celebrations for Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is celebrating its 150th anniversary this week, and to mark the occasion Walker Books has teamed with Robert Frederick for a range of gift stationery.

Already home to well-known children’s brands including Beatrix Potter and The World of Eric Carle, Robert Frederick’s collection is based on Helen Oxenbury’s illustrations, which portray a more modern Alice for today’s audiences.

Products include notebooks, memo blocks, carry cases and storage cases, colouring pencils and jigsaw puzzles.

The range is available from Waterstones, as well as a selection of independent retailers.

“We are delighted to have Robert Frederick on board as one of our Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland partners in this anniversary year,” said Anna Hewitt, head of licensing at Walker Books UK.

“Helen Oxenbury’s illustrations bring something new and refreshing to this much-loved brand and we’re looking forward to exploring more opportunities to introduce Helen’s Alice to audiences of all ages in the coming months.”

The first products based on Helen Oxenbury’s artwork were launched back in January.

Interior designer Mary Gannon teamed up with Walker Books to produce a range of children’s furniture, handmade in the Cotswolds by local craftsmen. The range includes three different decorated Alice-themed wardrobes, a storage unit, a writing table, a Mad Hatter hat storage box, a small bookshelf, a range of home textiles and an Alice-themed chair.

Flame Tree Publishing has also produced an Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland calendar for 2016, while Aquarelle has released a limited and collector edition set of prints.
