Licensed toy company acquired from Privet Capital for an undisclosed sum.
Vivid Toy Group has been acquired by international games specialist, Goliath, from Privet Capital for an undisclosed sum.
Vivid has a rich history in the licensing industry having worked with successful brands including Moshi Monsters, Thunderbirds and, most recently, Nella the Princess Knight.
The company also recently confirmed a partnership with Corus Nelvana as part of its innovation pipeline into 2019 and beyond.
Goliath – which was recognised as the number one preschool games manufacturer and number three children’s games manufacturer in the US by NPD in 2017, as well as the number two overall games manufacturer in France – will use the combined scale of its business, including the Pressman and Crown & Andrews game portfolios, to launch a new games range with Vivid in 2019.
“The acquisition of Vivid by Goliath represents a bold new chapter in our company’s story,” said Tony Hicks, chief executive of Vivid Toy Group. “With Goliath’s backing, we are well supported to build a world leading portfolio that will continue to strengthen the company’s excellent long-standing customer relationships with the world’s leading retailers.”
Adi Golad, chairman and founder of Goliath, added: “We are extremely pleased to have acquired Vivid which we believe has significant growth potential. They are a highly professional, world class business spanning toys, arts and crafts and games with an impressive track record of ‘end-to-end’ excellence in each of its core functions.”
