ViacomCBS Consumer Products hires new vp, UK & Ireland

Venetia Davie will begin new role in January, reporting to Mark Kingston, svp international.

ViacomCBS Consumer Products has today (December 19) confirmed that Venetia Davie will join the company as vice president, UK and Ireland.

Venetia (pictured) will start her new role in January, reporting to Mark Kingston, svp international at VCP.

She will lead VCP’s UK and Ireland business, managing the London-based team and overseeing local relationships with key VCP partners.

In addition, Venetia will be responsible for both developing promotional partnerships and leading local VCP retail sales and marketing divisions across the two markets.

“Venetia has extensive experience across a range of branded consumer products businesses, and a proven track record of  transforming and expanding key properties in markets around the world,” commented Mark. “She will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a consumer products strategy for our growing business in the UK and Ireland.”

Venetia previously held several senior roles at media company, DC Thomson. She most recently led DC Thomson’s acquisition of children’s toy and gifting company, Petit Collage and was named md of the company in 2017.

She also served in leadership positions at DC Thomson’s other brands – Wild & Wolf and Parragon Books. Her roles at Parragon spanned children’s and licensed publishing, global new business development, international sales and gifting. In addition, Venetia previously held senior publishing roles at Mattel and Harper Collins.

2020 is shaping up to be a busy year for VCP, with a number of big cinematic releases alongside its franchises. In January, preschool property PAW Patrol will expand further with PAW Patrol: Ready, Race, Rescue following on from the success of Might Pups in 2018.

Meanwhile, SpongeBob Squarepants’ 20th anniversary celebrations will continue with the release of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run in May, followed up with the eagerly awaited Top Gun: Maverick in July.
