Museum launched partnership with British furniture maker at Decorex show.
V&A launched its latest collaboration at Decorex International at the weekend.
The show – which runs from September 16-19 in London – acted as the platform for the unveiling of V&A Interiors new partnership with British furniture maker, Sofa Workshop.
The tie-up has seen the creation of three exclusive new shapes and six exclusive fabric designs.
The fabric collection includes; Bursa, Cathay Bloom, Morton’s Marble, Kaleidoscope, Love Birds and Coromandel, demonstrating the breadth of opulent designs preserved within the V&A archive.
The Shaftesbury chair, Thurloe range and Walpole range take further inspiration from the archive using Sofa Workshop’s skilled craftsmen to rework original shapes for a modern customer.
As well as the Sofa Workshop collaboration, V&A is also showcasing other key home lines featuring furnishing fabrics from Arley House, wall and floor tiles from British Ceramic Tile, wall decoration from Surface View and hand knotted rugs from UK Heritage Rugs.
