The V&A is to host the first international retrospective of Pink Floyd next year.
The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains will run from May 13 to October 1, 2017 at the museum.
The exhibition is being billed as an ‘unprecedented, innovative and multi-sensory journey’ through Pink Floyd’s worlds. It will chronicle the music, design and staging of the band, from their debut in the 1960s through to the present day.
It has been curated by Aubrey Powell, the creative director of Pink Floyd, with the V&A team led by senior curator, Victoria Broackes.
Their Mortal Remains has been produced in close consultation with the three surviving band members, and will feature over 350 artefacts spanning the band’s five decades.
The V&A is working in partnership with Iconic Entertainment Studios for the exhibition.
In 2013, the V&A enjoyed huge success and praise for its David Bowie retrospective – David Bowie Is… – which has since toured internationally.
