Museum and heritage brand partners with Arley House and Samsung.
The V&A has highlighted two of its latest licensed collaborations – underlining the sheer breadth of the museum and heritage brand.
Firstly, Arley House has launched the V&A Classic Collection which features a range of classic prints for the home.
The V&A Classic Collection features four designs selected from the archive, offered on either a soft rich velvet or classic cotton linen.
Each pattern tells a unique story from the V&A. Pagoda is taken from an original design by avant-garde designer Frederick Vigers; and Heraldic Birds, Rolling Leaves and Lacewings are reinterpreted from patterns by Lewis Foreman Day, a designer best known for his textiles, ceramics, wallpapers, and writings on the Arts and Crafts Movement.
Elsewhere, Samsung Electronics has launched a V&A collection on The Samsung Art Store for owners of The Frame TV to enjoy at home.
Working with the V&A’s extensive archive, Samsung has selected over 20 works for The Art Store, spanning centuries and cultures, telling the story of decorative art and design.
From classic wallpaper patterns from the celebrated British Arts & Crafts Movement to dramatic Japanese ukiyo- e woodblock prints, users will be able to enhance their surroundings with a digital display of V&A images.
The Frame is currently available in 43, 55 and 65-inch models with prices starting from £999.99.
Users can sign up to the Art Store either with a monthly subscription of £3.99, or making one-off purchases of £14.99. Samsung’s Art Store is a growing library of more than 300 pieces of established and emerging artists, curated by several international organizations, galleries and museums.
