Museum reveals latest launches with Lansur and Shiseido in territory.
The V&A’s latest launch in China is with beauty brand, Lansur.
The new collection features the stylised and flamboyant Art Nouveau portrait, Zodiac, by Alphonse Mucha and includes foundation, concealer, lipstick and an eyeshadow palette. The products will be sold in 6,000 stores, as well as Lansur’s online flagship store.
In addition, Shiseido beauty brand Zu has launched its latest V&A collaboration with two limited edition gift sets.
Za used an array of archive inspiration to create the uniquely designed gifts, including a brow pencil set inspired by a fabric created by one of F. Steiner & Co.’s designers in 1914, and the Purify gift set adapted from a naturalistic study of a wild rose by the Franco-Swiss decorative artist Eugène Grasset (1841–1917).
The V&A also worked with Tmall to celebrate International Museum Day last month with a special promotion on its homepage. The campaign featured both Chinese museums and a select number of international museums, including the V&A, The National Gallery and The Met.
The campaign ran for three days and linked to the V&A’s Flagship Tmall store, which featured over 50 new V&A products including these Tippoo’s Tiger-inspired accessories and bag.
A cosplay poster challenge was also launched last month on the V&A’s Weibo account. Four exhibition posters were selected and participants were encouraged to create their own take on the poster next to the original for a chance to win one of four prizes on offer from the V&A’s Tmall store.
