UK’s most memorable kids’ TV and film catchphrases unveiled

“Let it Go”, “Scooby-Dooby-Doo” and “To Infinity and Beyond” are among the most popular, according to research from Sky Q.

Iconic quotes from Frozen, Scooby-Doo and Toy Story are among the TV phrases that parents hear their children say the most.

This is according to new research from Sky Q, which found that more than two thirds of children use phrases from their favourite films and TV shows every day, with over half of parents resorting to saying quotes to work out what their kids want to watch on TV.

The poll revealed that almost two thirds of youngsters refer to their favourite shows using only sounds and more than one in ten parents said their children had used a pig snort to tell them that they wanted to watch Peppa Pig, before they could say the words.

The research was commissioned by Sky Q to mark the launch of Kids Quotes voice search, which has seen 25 of the nation’s catchphrases added to the voice control platform.

The update arrives on Sky Q as the research found that almost eight in ten children, who have a TV voice search function, use it to try and find their favourite shows using quotes and catchphrases. Almost nine in ten adults even said voice search helps their child to pick what they want to watch more easily, especially for children who can’t read or spell yet.

The campaign is being fronted by Storm Keating, who partnered with Sky Q to launch the service.

The top ten memorable and iconic kids TV and film phrases (according to parents) are:

  1. “Let it Go” – Frozen
  2. “Scooby-Dooby-Doo” – Scooby-Doo
  3. “To infinity and beyond” – Buzz Lightyear, Toy Story
  4. “Can we fix it? Yes we can!” – Bob the Builder
