UK licensing drive for Gigantosaurus ramps up

TDP/Aykroyds, Roy Lowe & Sons, Character World and PMS sign for preschool animation.

The UK licensing drive for Cyber Group Studios’ preschool animation, Gigantosaurus is ramping up, with a number of key names coming on board.

TDP/Aykroyds will develop nightwear and underwear, Roy Lowe & Sons will create socks, Character World is on board for home textiles and PMS has signed for gift products in the amusement sector.

In addition, master toy partner Jakks Pacific will launch its range this year, while Outright Games has confirmed the release date of Gigantosaurus: The Game as March 27.

Templar will also have 40 new TV tie-in books published over the next three years.

Gigantosaurus is due to air on Tiny POP in the UK this year. The first season is currently airing on Disney Junior worldwide and has just been commissioned by The Walt Disney Company and France Télévisions for seasons two and three and by Super RTL for season two.

“Gigantosaurus is a brand with great appeal built on a hugely successful book, which has inspired award winning and top-rated content, widely available on many platforms, including pay TV, FTA, SVOD and digital media,” said Trudi Hayward co-founder of bRand-Ward Services, which is handling the licensing programme in the UK. “Securing multiple platforms is prerequisite nowadays if you want to achieve the necessary exposure.”

Bruno Danzel d’Aumont, international licensing and marketing vp at Cyber Group Studios, added: “I am highly confident that our partnership and joint effort will bring Gigantosaurus in the top licensing IP in the UK, thanks to the high quality and richness of the content of the series and the network of partners and retail skills that bRand-Ward brings.”
