Toys star for Tesco in Black Friday deals

Retailer selling one toy every two seconds since Black Friday deal bonanza began this week.

Toys have been the most popular category when it comes to Tesco’s bumper Black Friday promotion.

The retailer has said that one toy is being sold every two seconds.

So far this week Tesco has sold almost a hundred items per minute on Tesco Direct. This year marks the retailer’s biggest ever Black Friday event, with it offering 11 days of deals with up to 50% off products.

The event is running on Tesco Direct until Thursday December 1 and in-store from Friday November 25 to Thursday December 1.

Matt Davies, UK & ROI ceo at Tesco, said: “We’re doing all we can to take the hard work out of Christmas and help our customers get everything they need in one place.

“We’re already offering customers market leading prices on the most loved toys this Christmas, and now we’re launching even more Black Friday deals.”

He added: “Christmas is an extremely busy time for customers, but with more products now on sale for a longer period, we’re hoping to take the stress out of Christmas shopping for our customers.”

Another 300 promotions have been released today (November 25), with many Tesco stores opening their doors at 5am.
