Tonies adds Disney characters to line-up

Hit audio system adds The Lion King and The Jungle Book to its collection.

Having been one of the break out stars from Toy Fair earlier this year, audio system Tonies is to add a range of Disney characters to its existing collection.

The line-up will begin with The Lion King and The Jungle Book – both launching on August 15 – with further Disney titles to be added later this year.

The Lion King will run at approximately 30 minutes and includes a story, as well as classic songs such as I Just Can’t Wait to Be King and Hakuna Matata. The Jungle Book will run at approximately 24 minutes and features the famous sing-along songs The Bare Necessities and I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song).

“We are absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with this world-renowned brand – many of our fans have been requesting that their favourite Disney classics are brought to our platform and now we can grant that wish,” said Patric Faßbender, inventor of the Toniebox. “This partnership with one of the most important international licensors shows us that we are on the right track.”

Christian Rahmig, vp and gm for consumer products and integrated retail at Disney, added: “Innovation in storytelling has a very important role to play at Disney, which makes this a perfect fit for us.”

Originally launched in 2018, the number of Tonies available in the UK and Ireland is set to grow from 45 to 65 by the end of the year. The collection already includes The Gruffalo, Stick Man, Little Red Riding Hood and The Snowman.
