TLC marks 20 years with charity fundraising

Agency looking to raise $50,000 for Railway Children with TLC20 campaign.

2016 sees TLC mark its 20th year in business, and to help celebrate the milestone, the agency is pledging to raise $50,000 in a six-month charity fundraising campaign.

The company’s 16 offices around the world will take part in TLC20, raising funds for Railway Children, an international children’s charity which helps protect 5,000 children from a life on the streets.

TLC staff will be taking part in some extraordinary challenges including cycling 2,000 kilometres, running the London Marathon, walking the 3 Peaks and sky diving 15,000 feet in the Nevada desert.

TLC20 starts today – Wednesday April 20 – with a sponsored round the world Interoffice Bikeathon. This will see TLC’s international offices attempt to collectively cycle 2,000 kilometres in just 24 hours.

The bike race will start at the crack of dawn at TLC Tokyo, moving through offices in Asia to Europe, before TLC London passes the virtual baton across the pond to the US offices, finishing at TLC Los Angeles to complete the home straight.

Angela Farrugia, TLC founder and group managing director, said: “It’s fitting and proper that we use the international reach and strength of TLC to bring this effort together.

“Melvin and I will be supporting all of our offices and leading some of the founder’s challenges – it couldn’t go to a better cause.”

Terina Keene, ceo at Railway Children, added: “We’re delighted that TLC is celebrating this landmark year by supporting Railway Children in this way. All around the world, children are living alone and in serious danger every day and so it is fitting that so many of TLC’s global offices have united behind our cause.

“It’s fantastic to hear their plans to raise funds for so many vulnerable children and we look forward to working with their team throughout the year.”

TLC20 will culminate in October, when the company will throw a 20th anniversary party at a landmark London venue for clients, partners and staff, where Railway Children will be presented with a cheque.
