Those Licensing People signs The Little Prince

Agency will represent classic children’s title in the UK for an initial two-year period.

Those Licensing People has secured representation for one of France’s most famed children’s titles, The Little Prince.

Since it was first published in the US back in the mid 1940s – where its author, French aristocrat, Antoine de Saint Exupery was exiled – it has never been out of print.

It has been translated into more than 300 languages and dialects, with over 200 million books in circulation. In addition, it also has millions of views on social and broadcast platforms (including Facebook, Netflix and YouTube), two theme parks, two museums and over 160 worldwide licensees.

Those Licensing People has been appointed by the brand’s French owner SOGEX, the family successors to Antoine.

It will handle The Little Prince in the UK for an initial period of two years, looking to establish a direct to consumer channel to deliver gift product and apparel, as well as stationery.

TLP will also introduce The Little Prince into its KidsCast portfolio, developing a game based on the flight of the Little Prince in his bi-plane.

“I am truly delighted to have secured an agreement to represent one of the world’s most endearing and enduring classic brands,” said Russell Dever, md of Those Licensing People. “With a roster of global licensees that most brands can only dream of, the TLP team and I are so excited to engage with new audiences and re-ignite this much-loved property across the UK in the coming months.

“The Little Prince really will have his day again very soon in the UK.”
