“This week has been incredible for many reasons”

Visitor numbers up as vp of Global Licensing Group Anna Knight hails this week’s BLE as a success.

Brand Licensing Europe 2019 closed its doors yesterday (October 3) after its debut at ExCeL, with vp of Global Licensing Group Anna Knight saying the week had been incredible for a number of reasons.

As well as the move to the new venue in East London, the show was marking its 21st anniversary.

Anna praised the look and feel of the show floor, highlighting key activations, also confirming that visitor numbers were up over the previous year.

“This week has been incredible for many reasons, but I want to start by thanking BLE’s amazing exhibitors who have moved with us to ExCeL,” Anna told Source yesterday. “A change of venue is no mean feat and the one thing we heard time and again was, “we’ll support you and trust you, but you have to deliver,”.

“Well, you just need to take a look at the show floor to see that we did just that: BLE looks fantastic and, thanks to our Beyond the Book, Arcade and Heritage X Interiors activations – plus our Fresh off the Runway entrance highlights – it’s full of the experiential and interactive content we promised. Of course Fresh off the Runway is a visual teaser for our 2020 theme – fashion – which we are already incredibly excited about.”

Speaking to Source earlier in the week, Anna said that the increase in visitor numbers was a testament to what an important event BLE is, especially given some of the challenges facing retail currently.

Anna continued: “I’ve heard from a lot of people that BLE suits the venue… it feels more experiential, like it has gone up another notch. We’ve not lost the buzz and there is more room to breathe – it’s a perfect harmony of those two things.”

BLE 2020 will take place at ExCeL from October 6-8.
