This is Iris adds License This winner Rosie Brooks

Rosie’s illustrated opera series won a License This! Award in 2019.

This is Iris has welcomed award winning illustrator Rosie Brooks to its licensing portfolio.

Rosie’s illustrated opera series won a License This award in 2019 and she has spent lockdown continuing to build up the collection, which now includes more than 50 titles.

“I am extremely excited to be working with This is Iris on my new licensing journey; I am such a huge fan of the other brands they represent so it is a massive compliment they will be representing my work,” said Rosie. “Opera, ballet and theatre is my inspiration, and the impact of this year has obviously been devastating to the performing arts worldwide with theatres across the globe only beginning to reopen now, so this collection is my love letter to them.

“More than anything we are going to have a lot of fun developing the range, with humour and joy that the world needs more than ever right now.”

Kaye Hunter, licensing manager at This is Iris, added: “We’ve been proud to support the License This! event for many years alongside our work to promote the importance of art and design within the industry.

“We know first hand how important new ideas and collections are to the future of this industry and License This! is just one of the many opportunities open to new creatives.

“We can’t deny that COVID has had an effect on our industry but we’ve remained positive and super busy throughout. This has been made so much easier with the signing of such a lovely and passionate artist as Rosie.”

Kaye added: “We are super excited to be representing Rosie and developing her distinctive art style across a variety of beautiful products.”
