The Weeknd opens European pop-up shops

Limited retail run begins this weekend to tie in with Starboy tour.

Pop-up shops have become the new way for music stars to get limited edition branded merchandise into the hands of fans, with The Weeknd becoming the latest to open up a limited run of stores.

Tying in with the tour of his Starboy album, six European cities will welcome the shops, kicking off this weekend (March 10-12).

Paris, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, London, Newcastle and Glasgow will host the shops, which will each stock the new Starboy collection.

Merchandise will include long sleeved tees, t-shirts, hoodies, caps, bomber and denim jackets.

Kanye West, Justin Bieber and Frank Ocean are among other stars who have enjoyed success with limited edition pop-up stores.
