The Snowman takes up residence at London’s Christmas by the River

Sculpture trail and festive workshops taking place at popular Christmas market.

London’s popular Christmas market – Christmas by the River – has welcomed a festive sculpture trail and a series of family workshops celebrating The Snowman.

Presented by Wild in Art, in partnership with Penguin Ventures, the Walking with The Snowman trail features 12 giant Snowman sculptures, each reimagined with designs and decoration relating to the song, The Twelve Days of Christmas.

Each unique statue is placed at different locations throughout London Bridge City’s Christmas by the River market, which hosts 70+ stalls.

In addition, Christmas by the River will also be hosting a special series of  family workshops to celebrate The Snowman’s arrival, from story tellings to arts and craft sessions.

The sculptures will be on display through to Sunday January 5.

“We’re delighted to be revisiting our partnership with Wild in Art for a second year running to celebrate Raymond Briggs’ iconic creation,” said Izzy Richardson, head of brand management at Penguin Ventures. “We are very much looking forward to seeing the final twelve designs for the 2019 Walking with The Snowman.”

Ben Reed, head of creative development at Wild in Art, added: “We’re really excited to continue our partnership with Penguin Ventures on Walking with The Snowman.

“The sculpture trail was so popular last year, it’s a pleasure to be working with our artists again to bring their work to a new audience.”
