Bespoke drawing commissioned to celebrate Light the Night being part of astronaut’s music playlist.
The theme song to The Snowman and The Snowdog – Light the Night – was one of the music tracks being listened to by British ESA astronaut Tim Peake as he celebrated Christmas Day on the International Space Station.
Tim – who will spend six months on the ISS, having launched on December 15 – selected 75 of his favourite songs to keep him happy and motivated during his mission.
Light the Night was chosen as an additional Christmas bonus track. It was played on December 23 as part of the ESA #SpaceRocks campaign.
To commemorate the occasion, Lupus Films – which produced The Snowman and the sequel, The Snowman and The Snowdog – was commissioned by Snowman Enterprises to create a bespoke drawing in the original hand-drawn style of Raymond Briggs’ classic picture book, featuring Tim in space with the two characters for company.
Tim shared the drawing for the first time from his Twitter account on Christmas Eve, just ahead of the broadcast of The Snowman and The Snowdog on Channel 4.
