Agency to represent Konami’s Dance Dance Revolution in the US and Europe.
Boutique licensing agency The Sharpe Company is putting its best foot forward having been appointed by Tact Communications to represent Konami’s Dance Dance Revolution.
The iconic interactive arcade dance and music game first launched back in 1998, enjoying huge success on PlayStation as well as in arcades.
Now, it is tapping into the current trend for retro and nostalgia brands, as well as becoming involved in the e-sports space. Konami Arcade Championship takes place for the ninth time in 2020 in the US, with competitors attending from all over the globe.
In addition, there is a movie in the pipeline from Greg Silverman’s Stampede, which will partner with Branded Pictures Entertainment and Konami.
Meanwhile, Konami has also partnered with Tokyo-based fashion retailer WEGO on an apparel collaboration.
Sharpe will be looking to further build on the programme in the fashion and trend sectors, targeting high profile brand collaborations, social media influencer pick ups and third party promotional tie-ins encouraging an active lifestyle for the gaming generations.
