The Rolling Stones bag MTV exclusive collaboration

The Rolling Stones and MTV have revealed an exclusive collaboration, with the product launching at the RS No.9 Carnaby flagship store on 17 February.

Celebrating the Rolling Stones and MTV’s influence on shaping popular culture, the collection features both MTV and the Rolling Stones iconic logos coupled with well known, standout slogans ‘I Want My MTV!’ and the legendary lyric ‘It’s only Rock ‘n’ Roll But I Like it’ across a collection of apparel and a tote bag.

The ‘I Want My MTV!’ slogan harks back to MTV’s launch in 1981, when an MTV music executive convinced lead vocalist of the Stones, Mick Jagger, to be featured in the brand’s launch campaign. Jagger agreed to shout into the camera “I Want My MTV!” for the commercial.

The full Rolling Stones x MTV collection includes two hoodies, four t-shirts and a tote bag, with prices ranging from £25 to £65.

“We are thrilled to collaborate and create a collection of apparel that celebrates the band and MTV’s influence on the global music industry,” commented David Boyne, md at Bravado, which brought together the collaboration.

The Rolling Stones continued: “MTV has been such an important part of our journey – helping us by sharing our music to the world. We are very pleased to be able to continue to work with MTV, and bring exclusive collaborative products to our fans.”

Pam Kaufman, president and ceo of international markets, global consumer products and experiences for Paramount, added: “We look forward to offering fans this definitional collaboration that brings together one of the greatest brands in music, MTV, with one of the greatest rock bands of all time, the Rolling Stones.”
