The Point.1888 grows team and roster ahead of BLE

Bethan Garton & Rebecca Cross among new hires; welcomes Corinthian 1882 to portfolio.

The Point.1888 has bolstered its team – and its brand roster – ahead of Brand Licensing Europe next week.

Four new hires are joining the fast growing agency, while it has also added Corinthian 1882 – the football-based lifestyle brand – to its portfolio.

First up, popular exec Bethan Garton joins in the new role of retail and brand director. Most recently head of licensing at Acamar Films, Bethan will be responsible for managing MGA properties L.O.L Surprise, Num Noms and Little Tikes, as well as a number of new brands launching at BLE.

She will also lead the strategy and implementation of toys, games, publishing, softlines and entertainment across all retail channels.

In addition, Rebecca Cross joins as product development manager, heading up the approvals team. Rebecca has previously worked at Classic Media, Inspecs and CPLG.

Two new brand executives – Kieran Peterson and Zoe Johnson – also bolster the team. Both are joining as part of the Government Apprentice scheme, and will complete a Business Administration qualification alongside their development and training at the agency.

As well as the new hires, George Birtchnell has been promoted to senior brand manager, having joined in 2015, while Jack Allen has been promoted to senior brand executive. Jack joined the agency in 2016.

“I am incredibly excited to welcome Bethan, Becky, Kieran and Zoe to The Point.1888 ahead of a very busy BLE,” said Will Stewart, md of The Point.1888.

“I would also like to congratulate George and Jack on their well-deserved promotions; both have worked extremely hard to build our business in the last 12 months. Finding the right people within in an industry built on relationships has been a major priority, and I’m honoured and flattered when exceptional people join the company.

“There’s no doubt we’re now in a really strong position with an extremely talented team.”

As well as the agency’s existing brands, the new team will now also be focusing on football-based lifestyle brand Corinthian 1882.

Corinthian FC is the historic football club which is credited with popularising the Beautiful Game around the world, while championing gentlemanly fair play.

The initial launch will focus on building key categories in time for next year’s FIFA World Cup.
