Company to extend iconic brands such as Butterkist into new consumer products categories.
The Point.1888 has been appointed as Tangerine Confectionery’s exclusive brand extension partner in the UK.
The company will be looking to expand Tangerine’s portfolio of brands – which includes Butterkist, Wham, Fruit Salad, Black Jack, Refreshers, Sherbert Fountain, Dip Dab and Flumps among others – into new consumer products categories.
The Point.1888 has already lined up a roster of market leading licensees across health and beauty, apparel, gift and stationery.
“We are very excited to be working with a collection of brands that we have all grown extremely fond of since childhood,” said Will Stewart, md of The Point.1888.
“As a former confectionery buyer at Woolies, I know the Tangerine brands extremely well and the potential within brand extension is phenomenal.”
Russell Tanner, marketing and category management director at Tangerine Confectionery, added: “Extending our brands has become increasingly important at Tangerine Confectionery.
“For our loyal fans it’s the retro appeal of our confectionery products and branded popcorn that appeals. Our new generation of customers recognise that our products pack a unique flavour experience that connects emotionally.
“This is why we believe there is a huge opportunity and we’re looking for new ways to engage.
“The Point.1888 truly understand the value of our brands and we share the same vision to sign partnership licensing agreements to grow our stable of much-loved names sustainably over the long-term.”
