The Little Prince springs into autumn with global Zara launch

This month also sees the launch of an online shop for the French-based IP, as Those Licensing People ramps up activity.

Those Licensing People is continuing to build the consumer products programme around The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

A global launch of apparel has hit Zara stores and online, with the long-sleeve sweatshirt (pictured) already proving a hit with fans.

Other new signings for the French-based classic IP include The Little Prince Star Registry with personalised books based on the original work; plus a partnership with Unrooted Drinks for a new health drink made from the juice of the Baobab Tree.

In addition, this month sees the launch of The Little Prince online shop which will include 80 skus across apparel, accessories, gifting, stationery and prints.

“Our creative team at TLP has worked with our principal and licensee to develop a fabulous range,” Leah Dever, licensing manager at Those Licensing People told Source. “Lockdown for TLP meant getting our heads down and coming up with a highly creative response to the new order of licensing which is beginning to emerge.

“Zara is fabulous PR for this delightful and enigmatic brand which is now being supported in the UK very strongly. The timing into the fourth quarter gift season is perfect for us and the start of an expansion into our direct to consumer activity through TLPGlobal.”

The Little Prince has a legacy stretching back over 75 years and is one of the world’s best known children’s books. A major entertainment project is also mooted to be on the horizon.
