The Light Fund to benefit from Sophie Long BLE artwork

Bristol artist to donate special piece to industry charity to auction off later in the year.

Bristol-based artist Sophie Long – who is represented by Larkshead Media – will be showcasing her creative talent at Brand Licensing Europe this week, with industry charity The Light Fund also set to benefit.

Sophie will be in the Retail Trends Lounge from 09.30 on Wednesday October 2 painting live, with the final painting being donated to The Light Fund during a presentation at 1pm that day, also in the Retail Trends Lounge.

“We’re so excited to have Sophie painting live at BLE – her animal portraits are incredible, so exuberant, and we just know she’s going to draw a crowd at the show on Wednesday,” Anna Knight, vp of licensing, told Source. “A big thank you, too, on behalf of The Light Fund as Sophie has kindly agreed to donate her finished artwork to auction off later in the year and raise money for good causes.”

Sophie mainly works with acrylics, exploring the boundaries of expressive art, usually in the way of exuberant animal portraits (such as the lion pictured).

In addition, BLE is also doing its bit to fundraise for the licensing industry’s charity – as well as keep sustainability front of mind – by donating £1 to The Light Fund for every single plastic badge holder that is returned to the team by BLE attendees.
