The Light Fund Southern Quiz raises over £13k

The team from Beano walks away victorious as industry gathers at Lord’s for annual event.

Last night’s Southern Quiz in aid of The Light Fund was another roaring success, raising over £13,000 for the industry charity.

The coffers were boosted further by the ever popular raffle, with the total for the evening – which was held at the new venue of Lord’s Cricket Ground – reaching £13,400.

Blamtastic Beano! walked away victorious, with a grand total of 120 points after seven rounds plus a bonus picture round.

They were closely followed by We Know Nerf-ing (Hasbro), Wild Bears (WildBrain and Golden Bear) and Catch Attax (Topps Europe) who all notched up 118 points.

However, at the other end of the table – and the recipients of the rather fabulous Pants of Doom – was Focomotion (FOCO) who scored just 86 points.

“It was the 15th Light Fund Quiz in London, this time at the prestigious new venue of Lord’s Cricket Ground and the licensing industry, as ever, turned out in force to support a great cause and test their brainpower at another successful evening of networking and fun,” David Scott, md of Rainbow Productions and treasurer for The Light Fund, told Source. “Once the raffle proceeds were counted – over £2,000 – we’re pleased to report that the evening will have raised over £13,000, once all expenses have been deducted.

“This crowns a great year for The Light Fund which has now raised and donated over £1.5 million to good causes since its inception.”
