The Licensing Awards 2020 entry deadline extended as retail judges line up

More than 200 retailers on board to virtually judge the Product categories, as entry deadline extended to Friday August 14.

The industry now has an extra week to submit their entries for The Licensing Awards 2020 – with the entry deadline extended to Friday August 14.

Over 200 retailers have been lined up to take part in the judging for the prestigious Product categories. The judging this year is being held online. Buyers from retailers as diverse as grocers, fast fashion specialists and toy chains, through to ecommerce giants, department stores and value specialists have all pledged their support.

Just some of the retailers taking part in the judging include Tesco, The Entertainer, The Works, George @ Asda, Character.com, B&M, Dunelm, Fat Face, Card Factory, Ann Summers, Asda, DFS, Dobbies, Firebox, Groupon, Forbidden Planet, Games Workshop, Halfords, Hamleys, HMV, John Lewis, JoJo Maman Bébé. M&Co, Marks & Spencer, Matalan, Moonpig, Primark, Morrisons Nutmeg, Next, River Island, Sainsbury’s, Selfridges, Mothercare and Waterstones.

“We want to make sure that the industry gets the chance to be recognised for its efforts and achievements across product, property, retail, marketing and more,” explained Ian Hyder, joint md of Max Publishing, which owns and organises The Licensing Awards. “To do this, we felt it was fair to extend the deadline by another week from August 7 to August 14, giving the chance for those coming back to work from furlough across retail, licensees and licensors the best chance to enter.

“Planning events in 2020 is not easy and the safety and well-being of the industry is upper most in our minds. We are very much working towards a best case scenario of being able to reunite the industry in-person on December 16, however we also have contingency plans in case we are unable to do this due to the government guidelines.”

Ian continued: “However, whatever happens, there will be finalists and there will be winners.”

Full details on the categories and how to enter can be found on the official website by clicking on this link. The awards are easy – and free – to enter with all entries completed online.

Anyone seeking further clarification on entering the awards should contact Ian Hyder on ianh@max-publishing.co.uk or on 07525 634306 or Rob Willis on robw@max-publishing.co.uk or +44 (0)203 370 4752.

The Licensing Awards 2020 has the strong backing of major names in the industry as official sponsors. The headline sponsor of the awards is Brand Licensing Europe, while Licensing International is an official supporter.

The finalists of The Licensing Awards will be announced later in the summer, while the winners will be unveiled at the evening extravaganza event held in The Great Room at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Wednesday 16 December.

Tickets and tables can be reserved quickly and securely online by visiting Max-Tickets.net or by contacting Clare Hollick of Create Events: clare@createvents.co.uk or phone +44 (0)1183 340085.
