The Licensing Awards 2016 open for entries

Entry process now open for all award categories for September’s big event.

The UK Licensing Awards 2016 are now officially open for entries.

Entry and nomination forms for all the awards categories are now available to download from www.thelicensingawards.co.uk.

“Last year thanks to the ongoing support and commitment from the licensing community, the UK Licensing Awards reached new heights last year and the early signs for 2016 is that this growth is set to continue,” commented Ian Hyder, director of The Licensing Awards and the Licensing Source Book (which owns and organises the awards).

“Keeping in step with the evolution of the licensing industry we have reassessed the award categories to ensure they properly reflect this dynamic sector. We have also worked with LIMA to integrate its Rising Star Award into the Licensing Awards for this year, which is a really exciting development, shining the spotlight on those who are the future of our trade.”

Ian added: “Every year the quality of the entries improves and rest assured we are working on creating a great event that really does reflect everything that’s fantastic about our industry.

The headline sponsor of The Licensing Awards 2016 is Brand Licensing Europe. The awards are officially supported by LIMA, the licensing industry’s trade association.

Jessica Blue, senior vp licensing, UBM, said: “It’s a pleasure to be involved with an initiative which celebrates excellence in our industry and we’re therefore delighted to be headline sponsor of The Licensing Awards once again.”

The Licensing Awards 2016 categories cover all aspects of the UK licensing industry:

  • Product Awards – for ranges of licensed products
  • Retailer Awards – for retailers of licensed merchandise
  • Property Awards – for specific licensed properties
  • Marketing Communication Award – for a specific licensing marketing promotion
  • Honorary Achievement Award – for an individual’s outstanding contribution to the industry.

In addition, the LIMA Rising Star Award will be affiliated to The UK Licensing Awards 2016.

The closing date for entering the licensed product awards categories is Wednesday May 25 2016. These will be judged by an extensive panel of leading retail buyers from leading high street names.

Online and downloadable nomination forms for the Retailer Awards, Property Awards, Best Marketing Communications Award and Honorary Achievement Award are also now available from the website.

The Licensed Property Awards can only be entered online. The deadline date for the Property Awards is June 30 2016. These entries will be validated by retailers and licensees.

The entry form for new LIMA UK Rising Star Award will be available to download from the website on April 1 and the deadline for entry is July 14 2016. It is open to all individuals under 30 years old working in the industry.

Tickets are also now on sale for The Licensing Awards 2016 event, which takes place in The Great Room in The Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Tuesday September 13 2016.

Over 1,400 retailers, licensees and industry suppliers will attend.
