The Brand Department has signed up Joe Whale – otherwise known as The Doodle Boy – to further expand his licensed offering.
Jow is a 15 year old illustrator who is taking the world by storm with his unique doodle and cartoon style.
Celebrated for his imaginative creations, Joe draws inspiration from many sources with artwork including food, monsters and aliens. His creative philosophy is encapsulated by his single design rule, there is no right or wrong in art, just interpretation.
He has already collaborated with a number of brands including Nike, Disney, Marks & Spencer and The FA, while he has even worked with the Royal Family.
When it comes to licensing, Joe’s five-part colouring book series, Bad Food, with Scholastic is available in bookstores across the US and UK and has sold 500,000 copies. There has also been a recent children’s clothing range with M&S which sold through in under three months.
The Brand Department is now looking to expand The Doodle Boy’s licensing programme further, with a particular focus on fashion, accessories and footwear, back to school, stationery, home interiors and brand collaborations.
