The B&LLAs 2018: The Product winners

We take a closer look at the nine big winners in the Product category.

The winners of the nine product categories at the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards covered a variety of big names – from V&A through to Tassimo.

The first award of the afternoon was Best Brand Licensed Fashion Accessories or Lifestyle Product or Range (sponsored by CPLG).

The V&A bag and accessories collection from Knomo was victorious, with the award collected by design director Eva Rawson and V&A’s senior brand licensing manager, Alice Molyneaux.

Eva said: “This is truly amazing and unexpected. It was our first licensing project so this is really encouraging for the future.”

Next up was Best Brand Licensed Health & Beauty Product or Range (sponsored by Joules), with the Krispy Kreme Beauty Gifting Collection from H&A winning the award.

A delighted Nicola McQuillan, product marketing director, and licensing and marketing manager, Holly Humphreys, simply said: “We’re dead chuffed! It’s a great licence to work with.”

Best Adult Apparel Product or Range (sponsored by National Geographic) was awarded to RHS Floral Apparel from Coast.

Licensing manager Cathy Snow said: “This is so lovely. It was our first apparel deal, too and we have a second collection planned for spring/summer 2019.”

Best Brand Licensed Gifting Product or Range (sponsored by Prima and Country Living Magazine) was awarded to the Orla Kiely Stationery Collection from Wild & Wolf.

Emma Puzey, licensing manager at Wild & Wolf, said: “This is a result of all the hard work which has been put in over the years.”

Best Brand Licensed Food or Beverage Product or Range (sponsored by TSBA Group) was picked up Baileys Coffee Pods from Tassimo.

Serena Sibbald, vp brand development, licensing and new business at Beanstalk, collected the award of behalf of Tassimo, saying: “It’s fantastic to win. Tassimo and Baileys are a match made in heaven.”

Best Brand Licensed Homewares Product or Range (sponsored by Vintage Kellogg’s) was awarded to the V&A Collection from John Lewis.

Returning to the stage for V&A’s second award in the product category, Alice Molyneaux said: “This was a real collaborative effort with John Lewis; they were such a great partner to work with.”

Best Brand Licensed Children’s Product or Range (sponsored by Start Licensing) was awarded to Crayola x Charlotte Olympia Colour-me-in Footwear, with Sasha Lerner, brand director at CAA-GBG collecting the accolade on behalf of Charlotte Olympia.

She said: “This is really exciting and a fantastic win.”

The next award was Best Brand Licensed Consumer Hard Goods Product or Range (sponsored by Golden Goose).

It was won by the Marshall Wireless Multi-Room Speaker System by Zound Industries. The award was collected by Jon Ellery, md of Marshall Amplification, and licensing director Grace Pantony on behalf of Zound Industries.

Grace commented: “It’s a really great collaboration and we are really proud of the range.”

The final award was a new category for this year – Inspired Innovation Brand Licensed Product or Range (sponsored by Discovery Consumer Products).

The Military Wives Choirs Homeware and Fashion Accessories from M&Co (pictured) was victorious, with head of buying Julia Redman saying: “The range has been a resounding success. Military Wives Choirs and CAA-GBG have both been so supportive and we’re really proud of it.”
