The eagerly awaited The Batman dominated the UK & Ireland box office, as well as other international markets, on its opening weekend.
The blockbuster – which sees Robert Pattinson step into the Caped Crusader’s shoes – took £13.53 million across the three days, reported Screen Daily.
The figure is only behind No Time to Die (£21m) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (£19.5m).
It is also ahead of the first two movies in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy – Batman Begins (£4.4m) and The Dark Knight (£11.2m) – and just behind The Dark Knight Rises (£14.3m).
The Batman also topped the £12.6m three-day figure for Joker, which went on to take £58.3 million in total.
Internationally the movie has also performed strongly. Domestic box office opening for the US stood at $134 million, Screen Daily reported.
Earlier this year, WarnerMedia Global Brands and Experiences revealed the largest collection of Batman film products in over a decade to celebrate The Batman. Fashion, accessories, beauty products, toys and collectables among other categories inspired by the movie have all been launched.
