The Angry Birds Movie 2 dated for September 2019

Arrival of film sequel will coincide with tenth anniversary of original game.

The Angry Birds Movie 2 is set to arrive on September 20, 2019.

Rovio Entertainment will once again be working with Columbia Pictures, while Sony Pictures will distribute the movie.

The release of the sequel will coincide with the tenth anniversary of the original Angry Birds game.

The first movie notched up nearly $350 million at the worldwide box office and catapulted Rovio from being simply a games company into a fully fledged entertainment company.

“We are thrilled to be teaming up again with Sony Pictures after the fantastic cooperation in the first movie and I can’t wait to experience the new journey in the upcoming film,” said Kati Levoranta, ceo of Rovio Entertainment.

“Rovio is continuing to focus on creating exciting new stories and experiences around our games and we’re eager to take fans back into the vibrant Angry Birds world on the big screen.”
