Tesco’s Top 10 Christmas toy picks stars key licences

LEGO Harry Potter, Toy Story, L.O.L. Surprise and Fortnite all named by Tesco toy experts.

Tesco’s team of toy experts have picked their top ten toys for Christmas 2019, with a number of licensed lines making the shortlist.

The recommendations are what the retailer believes are likely to be on many children’s wish lists, with seven of the ten stocking fillers and main present toys being priced at £35 or under.

Included in the list this year are a robotic llama, as well as a dancing sloth that will vie for attention against latest toys from evergreen favourite brands LEGO and Toy Story.

“As any parent will tell you choosing the right Christmas toy for their youngsters can be a daunting experience,” said Anne Borrett, toys category manager at Tesco. “Our choices, made by Tesco’s team of toy experts, have been carefully considered and based on the type of toys which have been popular throughout the year and which are likely to be on many children’s ‘Dear Santa’ lists.

“In our top 10 are toys for all budgets, but with more than half of them priced at £30 we think there will be something for everyone.”

All the toys in the top ten are currently in an ‘up to half-price’ sale which is currently running at all Tesco stores.

Tesco’s top ten toys for Christmas are:

  6. Zuru Pets Alive Robotic Llama (£20)
  7. Carousel Doll House (£50)
  8. Fisher-Price Linkimals Smooth Moves Sloth (£35)
  9. Slap Ninjas (£23)
  10. Tesco Delivery Van (£15)
