Tesco confirms its biggest ever Black Friday event

650 items – including licensed lines – will be on offer during the 11-day promotion.

Tesco has unveiled its biggest ever Black Friday event – with 650 items set to be included across the 11-day initiative.

Licensed lines could feature heavily, as the retailer has already gone big on being the home for toys this Christmas, with properties including PAW Patrol and My Little Pony starring in special TV ads.

The 11 days of deals will begin on Monday November 21 and carry through until Thursday December 1.

There will be a broader range of products on offer including toys, electrical and home, with up to 50% off on selected items.

Last year, 200 items were included in Tesco’s Black Friday event.

The 2015 event saw Tesco Direct receive seven orders per second, with a total of 220,000 orders in the day.

Matt Davies, Tesco UK and ROI ceo, said: “We’re doing all we can to take the hard work out of Christmas and help our customers get everything they need in one place.

“We’re already offering customers market leading prices on the most loved toys this Christmas, and now we’re launching our best ever Black Friday event, providing customers with more time than ever before to take advantage of some great deals.”
