Terraria toys and collectables ready to launch

Gaming success story, Terraria is making its move into the consumer products space later this year.

Heathside Trading has secured a new deal with Vidglo for the release of toys and collectables based on the action/adventure sandbox game later in 2021 and into 2022.

Released by Re-Logic for PC in 2011, Terraria has since expanded to multiple gaming consoles and mobile platforms, boasting a large and loyal player community.

Almost 38 million units have been sold, with eight million of those sold in the last year and a half alone. Terraria also has the sixth highest all-time peak concurrent players on Steam in 2020 and is the number one rated game on Steam 250.

Heathside/Vidglo have exclusive global rights and discussions are now underway with distributors around the world. Figures, collectables, blind packs, badges and puzzles will be among the first wave of products, with plans already underway to further expand on the initial ranges.

“Once again we are working with a team of people who bring some of the best products on the most relevant and popular games to market; we could not be more excited for some of these products to hit the market,” commented John Nelson, partner at Heathside Trading.

Sam Lockett, ceo at Vidglo, added: “Very few games are as loved or as lasting as Terraria which has seen extraordinary growth over the last decade. We have worked hard with the Re-logic team to develop a product offering unlike anything released before that can be enjoyed and appreciated by all Terraria fans, old and new.”
