Online greeting cards and gifting platform, Moonpig has launched a new and exclusive range of Love Hearts cards for a variety of occasions including Valentine and Mother’s Day.
Available in the UK and Australia, the collection includes eight new cards featuring the Love Heart design, drawing on a range of fun and cheeky messages from the sweets such as ‘LOVE’, ‘HOT LIPS’, ‘BE HAPPY’ and ‘COOL DUDE’ across a selection of personalised and photo upload designs, as well as age specific cards.
The range was developed by Moonpig hot on the heels of its successful and newly extended line of Swizzels plush toys. This saw characters such as a koala holding a Love Heart with the message ‘You’re Koality’.
The new card offering – brokered by Blonde Sheep Licensing – is an extension of the pre-existing relationship with Moonpig after the successful launch of the range of Swizzels Love Hearts plush in 2020.
“I’m over the moon that this range has finally launched,” commented Natasha Dyson, md at Blonde Sheep Licensing. “When approaching Moonpig to extend our pre-existing relationship we knew that the Love Hearts social messaging would lend itself well to greeting cards, and with Moonpig’s personalisation option this would allow our cards to be suitable for all.”
Dale Boreham, senior design manager at Moonpig, continued: “Swizzles is such an iconic brand and we had a lot of fun developing this new range alongside their team. Within the range we were able to explore the messaging on the sweets and tailor designs so that they were age appropriate for each recipient.
“The opportunity to create the cards came about in a post-lockdown world, when people were reconnecting with loved ones, and given the sentimental and heartfelt nature of Love Hearts we knew a partnership with Swizzles was the perfect fit to create a range which spoke to this new need.”
Blonde Sheep Licensing is continuing to investigate other opportunities for Swizzels in the food, apparel and homewares categories.
