Sweet publishing deal for Numberblocks

Larkshead Media secures deal with Sweet Cherry for Alphablocks brands.

Larkshead Media has signed its first deal for its client, Alphablocks.

Independent children’s publishing house, Sweet Cherry, will develop book ranges for both the Numberblocks and Alphablocks brands, aimed at children up to the age of 6 and launching at retail in early Q4.

There have been 90 CGI episodes of Numberblocks commissioned to date, with the series having debuted on CBeebies in 2017. It follows the adventures of colourful block characters which live in Numberland, helping children understand how numbers really work.

Alphablocks, meanwhile, are 26 living letters which realise if they hold hands and make a word, then it comes to life.

Both shows are produced by Blue Zoo Productions – alongside creators Alphablocks – and broadcast twice daily on CBeebies.

“Sweet Cherry have a real enthusiasm and commitment to bringing these two incredibly popular fun learning brands to life,” commented Clare Piggott, director at Larkshead Media. “There’s a real demand for Numberblocks and Alphablocks product and Sweet Cherry are well placed to capitalise on this given their exceptional distribution capabilities.

“We’re really looking forward to sharing their initial range of product in the coming months.”

Abdul Thadha, md of Sweet Cherry, added: “As an innovative children’s publisher, I’m confident the team here at Sweet Cherry will be able to pave the way in creating exciting new book formats with rich content across both of these delightful preschool series.”
