StationeryNews.net officially launches

Today marked the launch of StationeryNews.net – the sector’s only UK digital news platform underlining Max Publishing’s commitment to the stationery industry.

Previously known as StationeryMatters.news, there’s a new website and today (12 March), has seen the first of the twice-weekly e-newsletters from the team of Michelle Urquhart, Tracey Bearton, Samantha Loveday and Jakki Brown featuring hot-off-the-press news, interviews, commentary, trend analysis and much more – all delivered directly to over 15,000 inboxes.

StationeryNews.net is the latest digital news platform from Max Publishing, the new owners of London Stationery Show, now a sister trade fair to the company’s popular long-standing speciality greeting card event PG Live.

“With our many years of experience in B2B media in affiliated sectors, notably greeting cards, gifts and licensing, when we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to acquire London Stationery Show, we recognised that a key part of the jigsaw would be to have regular dialogue with the stationery community through a regular dedicated e-newsletter as well as a physical publication,” explained Max Publishing coo Rob Willis.

StationeryNews.net will be written and curated by Michelle, an experienced business journalist who has spent many years in markets including greetings, brand and character licensing, housewares, and kids’ products, while Tracey is now editor of the accompanying Stationery Matters magazine, as well as working with PG Buzz and Progressive Greetings. They will be ably assisted by group editor Samantha, who is also editor of LicensingSource.net and The Licensing Source Book Europe.

“There’s a lot of connection between stationery, greetings and licensing,” Tracey said, “so we’ll have all bases covered between the three of us – and any excuse to get my hands on a lovely new notebook is always welcome!”

In tandem with StationeryNews.net’s regular doses of news and views, launching prior to the London Stationery Show at Islington’s Business Design Centre over Tuesday and Wednesday, 14-15 May, will be a revamped Stationery Matters magazine.

This editorially-driven, design-led A4 publication will include industry developments, retailer insights, product features, topical discussion articles as well as coverage about the London Stationery Show to whet visitors and would-be visitors’ appetites for the treats in store.

Jakki Brown, co-founder of Max Publishing, added: “Every market has its own nuances, but at Max Publishing we’re already entrenched in the affiliated retail sectors of greeting cards, gifts and licensing through our magazines, awards and PG Live, so this wonderful synergetic opportunity to extend into the wider stationery field was too good to miss.

“We are already overflowing with ideas and can’t wait to get deeply involved in this fascinating and fast-moving and ever-evolving retail sector.

“If you’re involved with stationery we’d love to include you as we create engaging content and new – so, if you have new company developments, consumer or retail marketing activations, personnel news or want to vent your spleen about industry issues, please get in touch with Michelle by emailing her on michelleu@max-publishing.co.uk.”
