Star Wars, LEGO win at LIMA Germany Awards

Annual awards rounded off successful Licensing Market in Munich earlier this month.

Star Wars, LEGO and Angry Birds were among the winners at the annual LIMA Germany Awards earlier this month.

The ceremony completed a successful Licensing Market, which was held in Munich on November 8.

LEGO was named Licensee of the Year, while it also picked up Licensed Product of the Year for its Minifiguren DFB – Die Mannschaft.

Star Wars won Property of the Year, while Angry Birds was named Digital Brand of the Year.

AC/DC was awarded with Corporate/Corporate/VIP Brand of the Year.

Other winners included Kiddinx Media (Licensor/Agency of the Year); Team Licensing, Mercedes Benz and Peanuts (Promotion of the Year); Real (Retailer of the Year); DFB – Die Mannschaft (Sports Brand of the Year); and tonies Hörfiguren (Newcomer of the Year).

There were also two recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award – Heike Winner, former md of LIMA Germany, and Studio 100’s Gerd Russwurm.
