‘Star Wars has been our biggest licence this year’

Forbidden Planet’s Ruth Evans highlights the brands which have performed well in 2016.

Star Wars, Doctor Who and Fallout are just three of the licensed properties which have performed well for Forbidden Planet this year, according to the retailer’s Ruth Evans.

Ruth – retail operations manager for the chain – also highlighted Suicide Squad when The Source caught up with her at the Licensing Awards product judging.

She told us: “Our product has to make us a destination for people – I’m looking for innovative product that can be a bit quirky, something with a bit of difference.

Star Wars has been our biggest licence this year and Doctor Who is still going strong. Fallout was very good for us. People really invest in both the games and the characters.

Suicide Squad is also right up there.”
