Spearmark teams with Nat Geo for lunchware line

Autumn/winter launch for range of lunchbags, sandwich boxes, plates, cutlery and bottles.

Houseware and lighting licensee, Spearmark has teamed up with National Geographic to produce a range of lunchware for children.

The range includes bottles, lunch bags, sandwich boxes, plates, tumblers and cutlery. All the items will use minimal packaging and are designed to encourage reuse in line with National Geographic’s Planet of Plastic? initiative – a multi-year effort to raise awareness about the global plastic crisis.

The range will hit retail for autumn/winter 2019.

The designs are inspired by a number of themes which National Geographic has been expanding throughout its consumer products for children during 2019, including Amazing Animals, STEM and Space and Explorers-in-Training.

The themes are reflected in colourful designs showing dinosaurs, astronauts, planets, mountains and maps or facts about the natural world like the depth of the Mariana Trench and the height of Mount Everest.

“Bringing our expertise in housewares together with the wonderful design assets available to National Geographic licensing partners has proved a winning combination,” said Alex Bloom, md of Spearmark. “We are delighted to be working with National Geographic on this practical but unique and stylish range that we think kids will love.”

Helena Mansell-Stopher, director consumer products, publishing and retail at National Geographic Partners UK, added: “These colourful and practical items are perfect for the back-to-school and Christmas seasons, combining flair and style with National Geographic’s commitment to exploring and understanding our planet and its history.”
