How it Works: The Dad album on way

Sony Music album is inspired by the Ladybird Books for Grown-ups series.

Penguin Ventures has partnered with Sony Music to launch How It Works: The Dad – The Album.

The album – which is released on June 3 – is the first to be launched on the back of the successful Ladybird Books for Grown-up series.

The series has sold over 1.6 million books to date, with How It Works: The Dad arriving on May 19 as the next addition.

The three CD album will include a selection of tracks from the 70s, 80s and beyond – such as Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ and Starship’s We Built This City – and will feature the same original artwork as the book.

Damian Treece, brand manager at Penguin Ventures, commented: “The team at Sony Music has brought a fresh and new creative approach to using the Ladybird Books for Grown-ups brand.

“We’ve developed a fun, innovative product that really captures the spirit and voice of How it Works: The Dad.”
