Smiley & Unilever Carrefour promotion is a hit

100,000 SmileyWorld mug sets distributed to shoppers in two-week period.

Smiley is celebrating success with its latest retail promotion – teaming up with Unilever to give away 100,000 SmielyWorld mug sets to Carrefour customers over a two-week period.

The promotion rewarded customers who purchased over €15 across the range of Unilever products with a special SmileyWorld gift.

Featuring a specially designed giveaway set of two Smiley mugs, the promotion launched in 45 Carrefour Hypermaket and 450 Carrefour Market stores across Europe.

The loyalty promotion was created in partnership with European agency Xpect and spanned a two-week period. It was activated at retail with an in-store POS campaign featuring posters, banderoles, top-card displays, cubes and pallet corners.

Lori Heiss-Tiplady, vp of brand strategy at The Smiley Company, said: “We are thrilled to have partnered with Unilever for this Carrefour loyalty programme which rewarded their customers with the gift of happiness in the form of bespoke Smiley mugs.
