Smiley taps Ellesse for SS20 capsule collection

Italian sports fashion brand teams with Smiley on athleisure collaboration.

Smiley has joined forces with Italian sports fashion brand Ellesse for a new capsule collection.

The range will fuse Ellesse’s sportswear designs with Smiley’s counter-culture heritage, launching ahead of the 2020 festival season in spring/summer.

It will celebrate each brand’s history within music sub-cultures and their influence on the global party scene, with the collection using a range of fabrics such as 4M, PVC and mesh.

The colour palette will feature hot pink, sunshine yellow, orange, white and black across the likes of tracksuits, boob tubes and cycling shorts.

The collection will include 21 pieces for women and a smaller capsule collection for men.

“We are extremely proud to work with ellesse, a like-minded brand that shares our ethos for creativity and aims to put a smile back into the active sports market,” said Nicolas Loufrani, ceo of The Smiley Company. “Together our teams have created a cool collection, that not only taps into both brands heritage, but also incorporates a range of technical fabrics and sporty styles that continues to strengthen Smiley’s position in the athleisure market.”
