Over 800 Smiley designs added to Spreadshirt’s merchandise catalogue.
The Spreadshirt ecommerce platform has added the SmileyWorld licence to its merchandise catalogue.
The partnership will allow a vast archive of artwork that has been created by the Smiley design team, to be transferred across a wide range of customisable Spreadshirt products.
The collection includes more than 800 designs, from simple emoticons to elaborate sketches. The range is now available for sale via the Spreadshirt UK marketplace. Fans will also be able to customise Smiley merchandise via the platform’s create-your-own tool.
Nicolas Loufrani, ceo of the Smiley Company, said: “I’m delighted to see SmileyWorld working with Spreadshirt. As the creators of the world’s first digital Smileys, we are uniquely placed to provide products that allow consumers to really express themselves.
“We live in a world where personalisation has become a key consumer trend. That is why working with a company like Spreadshirt is really exciting for us, as they will allow our fans to both create and customise their own products to truly express their every mood.”
Philip Rooke, ceo of Spreadshirt, added: “Our print-on-demand technology provides traditional licence holders with a unique merchandising opportunity.
“Our platform enables their fans to access a wide range of designs, without upfront costs or bulk orders by the brand. This also enables licence holders to have a more flexible and spontaneous reaction to the latest trends, which enriches the customer experience.”
