Silvergate unveils ‘strongest ever’ production slate

New commissions for Nickelodeon and Netflix, plus new Octonauts content.

Silvergate Media has unveiled its strongest year yet for its content production slate.

The company has been buoyed by new commissions for Nickelodeon and Netflix, as well as new content for global hit series Octonauts.

In its third standalone commission from Silvergate Media, Nickelodeon has ordered new preschool animated series, Fashion Ally (working title).

Set in New York and following a little girl called Ally with big ideas and a passion for fashion, 40 23-minute episodes are planned to premiere on Nickelodeon.

Meanwhile, Chico Bon Bon: Monkey with a Tool Belt is currently in production for a 2020 debut on Netflix, with Silvergate also beginning discussions for terrestrial sales.

Aimed at preschool boys, the construction comedy follows the adventures of Chico and Team Bon Bon, the fix-it force that dedicates its time to rescuing the mechanically challenged metropolis from its many mishaps.

Silvergate Media also continues to ramp up its own content offering announcing that a sixth series of its hit global preschool show, Octonauts, is now in production.

The new 52 x 11’ episodes will roll-out globally from 2020 and the new instalment will be a significant step change for the established franchise – introducing new environments, characters and a fleet of vehicles.

In a further boost to its content pipeline, Silvergate Media is producing two new 60-minute kids’ films for theatrical release in China.

“Silvergate Media is now a significant creative force in preschool TV and is building its production slate in the broader children’s market,” said Waheed Alli, ceo at Silvergate Media. “We have had smash hits in the USA, China, Europe and Australia with more on its way.”

Alongside the new developments, Silvergate Media continues in production with content for its existing commissions. These include Hilda, an animated adventure series for 6-11 year olds that is gearing up to debut on Netflix this autumn; and Sunny Day, a preschool girls animation that premiered on Nick Jr.  in August 2017, with season 2 now in production.
